NFL-NEWS

Haynesworth is sore...Morey's had enough

UNDATED (AP) — Albert Haynesworth did not take a conditioning test today that coach Mike Shanahan says the two-time All-Pro defensive lineman must pass before practicing.

Shanahan says Haynesworth showed up this morning with some irritation in his knee and that doctors recommended he not take the test. He failed it Thursday and again yesterday.

Haynesworth is the only Redskins player required to take the test because he missed the team's entire offseason conditioning program.

Special-teams ace Sean Morey has retired from the Seahawks.

The 34-year-old was a nine-year veteran and a Pro Bowl selection in 2008 with Arizona. He signed a free-agent contract with Seattle this offseason.

Morey has been a leader in raising awareness of head injuries. Last season, he was named co-chair of the NFL Players Association's concussion and traumatic brain injury committee.

Cowboys owner Jerry Jones says rookie receiver Dez Bryant is disappointed and bothered that he could miss the entire preseason.

Jones says Bryant has a "typical" high right ankle sprain that should heal completely without surgery, and he could be back on the short side of the anticipated recovery period of four to six weeks.

The first-round draft pick was hurt on the next-to-last play of practice yesterday when he became entangled with a defensive back while trying to catch a pass.
