Northern Michigan first got to know Kevin during his years as the Live Reporter for Michigan This Morning. A native of Fruitport, Michigan, Kevin holds a Bachelor and a Masters degree from Central Michigan University.

The Michigan Associated Press presented Kevin with the award for best individual reporting in 2003. The Michigan Association of Broadcasters has also honored him with several awards including a best news special award for the program "Stories of the Great Lakes." Kevin and his wife live with two loving dogs, and enjoy taking them for walks. He runs in several road races each summer, and likes to camp, travel, root for the Detroit Tigers, garden, and take advantage of the sometimes extreme seasons northern Michigan has to offer.
