More than a half million Christmas trees will leave one northern Michigan farm and end up in homes across the country.
Dutchman Tree Farms in Missaukee County is busy shipping out trees to retailers for Black Friday.
It takes an average of seven to ten years to raise a Christmas tree. The farm has seen growth in recent years because of the popularity of natural trees over artificial.
While activity on the farm looked busy on Tuesday, last week was the busiest. Dutchman shipped about eighty semi-trucks every day.
On Monday, the company delivered a very tall Christmas tree to Ford Field. The farm also sells a tree to Universal Studios in Orlando every year.
