UPDATE: Man Accused of Stabbing Girlfriend, Toddler In Mecosta County

We now the name of the Mecosta County man accused of stabbing his girlfriend and her two-year-old son.

The stabbing happened Wednesday at a home in the Chippewa Hills Estates trailer park in Wheatland Township.

Police arrested James Getz of Remus for the stabbing.

Deputies say Getz tried slashing his girlfriend in the neck then stabbed the toddler in her arms.

The woman and her two children escaped without serious injuries.

Getz is in the Mecosta County Jail.
